A Promise from God: Take God to Work

Work life is really tough. Through all the gossiping that are heard from fellow colleagues, sometimes I wonder why they cannot look at themselves. According to them, they are the best while the rest are incompetent. Sometimes, they feel so happy that they can step into people's toes and claim that others have stepped into theirs.

What's worse is that there is so much work, too low pay and so many office politics going around. Even when you are sitting there quietly doing your work, you will be dragged into their politics. Often, I ask God to put me into another place where all these things will not happen. Then in today's word found in The Vine, Take God To Work, God seems to answer me.

It mentioned that we were often overwhelmed by things in the office: 'gossip, office politics, too heavy workload, too low pay, mirco-managing supervisor, injustice system that is based on whom you know than what you know'. How true that is! But God is not letting us suffer in silence. He gently said that 'your purpose and destiny are only moments away'. So be patient and wait for God. I guess that's the best policy now. I have learnt to depend on Him because no matter what the world promises, only God knows what is best for me.

May my destiny be aligned with His!

From Rat Race to God's Glory

For the past few weeks, things have been running very fast in office. It is as if I am involved in a mad rat race, trying to finish the mountains of tasks within a short period of time. For many superiors, the tasks that your subordinates need to do must be met within a short period of time, say maximum two working days. But when it is their turn to do the tasks, they would want at last four working days. What an irony! Aren't subordinates human too? Aren't they also have 24-hours a day? Don't they need rest like them?

In such incident, God's soft prompting may seem unheard. His still little voice, saying: 'Partner with me, my previous child'. We tend to be caught up with the things of this world that we cannot even hear God's voice. It is only when we are at our end of the road, then we began to think of Him and cry to Him. Shouldn't we think of Him and let Him handle the situation in the first place? It may be easier said then done, but God said in His Word, 'With men, it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible'.

Personally, I experienced this myself the week before. I was asking myself how I could finish the mountains of work when the dateline was so close to each other. Then I prayed to God, asking Him to give me the strength to handle them. I knew that with my effort, it was impossible. Then God began to do something. He helped me to clear my tasks with minimum interruptions and helped me to make the least mistakes so that I can have more time for other tasks. What an awesome God I serve!

During those times when I face such great mountains, God did not turn away from me even though I have not given Him my full attention. Instead, He keeps by my side and gently reminds me of His presence. Also, in such times, I thought that the things which I am doing right now seem so insignificant. But He said through Rev Bryan Tan during service yesterday that, those things which we consider small and insignificant now, can turn into something great and significant one day. Never despise the small things in our life. Just like a mustard seed which is so small, yet when it grows, it can become the biggest tree.

Though I may be in a mad rat race, yet I know that with God, all things are made possible for His glory. If only I partner with Him, I can never finish the race. Never again will I despise the small, insignificant things in my life, for they will become something great and significant in God's timing.
